How it works

Learning music gives a student the appreciation and discipline required to learn a piece of music on their own–no teacher! These skills reach deep into the rest of their lives.

We aim to laugh, encourage and learn at every lesson. At the first, we’ll meet and set some goals. At the second, we’ll start your journey!

What you get

  • A reserved 30 minute lesson time slot for each scheduled week of lessons

  • The opportunity to send video on weeks when you are sick or busy.

  • Access to a private page of students’ contact info/schedule if you want to switch lesson times.

  • Access to us via text during normal business hours.

  • Our passionate effort to get and keep your student excited about music!

  • Eventually, recitals, when your student is ready and interested.

What you’ll need

Piano or Guitar (stating the obvious?) Some electric keyboards are ok as long as they have a sustain pedal, stand, and bench.

  • Music - We will direct you where you can purchase this either online or in a local music store.

  • Notebook -  for us to help you keep track of assignments and for you to see progress

  • Metronome (app?) pencil and highlighter at your piano at home.

  • Bag - carrying music to and from lessons (optional but highly encouraged)

  • If you are meeting with us online, you will need a laptop of some sort (not a tablet or smartphone, and a strong internet signal.
